Mawahib, the Arabic word for “talents,” is a series of books showcasing skilled and professional Arab graphic designers, illustrators and photographers.
I was inspired to create Mawahib because I always found it challenging to source another designer, illustrator or photographer as either a collaborator or as a client referral. Volume I first saw the light back in November 2012. Featuring the biographies of 35 unique artists and over 260 pieces of their artwork and photos, the book’s aim was both to promote these featured talents to potential clients across the United Arab Emirates and to be a lasting source of inspiration for other creative individuals.
Twenty-five further artists are listed with the release of Volume II. Their nationalities encompass the UAE, plus selected artists from the GCC countries, such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. You can view more information and obtain a copy from the book’s direct website: www.mawahib.ae.
Khaleejesque: Vol II is a precious book indeed, featuring creative from across the GCC, it’s definitely a book you should check out.
Danna Lorch: Delighted to receive my copy of Mawahib Book #2 from Natoof. This gorgeous guide highlights local and gulf talent in illustration, graphic design and other artistic mediums and is one of my main go-to resources for names to watch when it comes to young, emerging artists. Also I have a crush on the packaging and love the quote printed on the envelope: ‘Time is just an illusion that restricts so many people from doing what they love.’
Ripeme.com: Totally love the second edition of #MawahibBook by Natoof! if you are interested in or looking for local graphic designers, illustrators and photographers grab a copy! #supportlocal.
